On May 21st, the launch event for palm-scanning entry on the Daxing Airport Line of Beijing Subway was held at Daxing Airport Station. It was announced at the event that the palm-scanning entry service on the Daxing Airport Line of Beijing Subway had officially gone live. As the general contractor, Yuntong Intelligence provided the overall solution and implementation services for the project, helping the Daxing Airport Line of Beijing Subway become the first demonstration line for the application of palm-scanning payment technology.


Simplifying Complexity, Technology Facilitates Travel

The palm-scanning entry service maximizes the simplification of passengers’ gate-passing actions, allowing them to enter and exit the station simply by lifting their palm. The service adopts a fused recognition technology combining palm prints and palm veins, featuring medium-free, contactless, high convenience, and high security. Compared with face-scanning entry, the palm-scanning entry service requires passengers to actively stretch out their hand to scan their palm in front of the palm print gate, after which the system can obtain information and confirm it through backend comparison and recognition. The palm-scanning entry service attaches great importance to passenger information security, utilizing dedicated channels and encrypted communication technology to effectively eliminate the risk of passenger privacy data leakage and replication.

Easy Registration, Convenient Use

Passengers only need to record their palm information on the palm-scanning registration machine at the automatic ticket vending machine and complete authorization on the WeChat mini-program “Beijing Subway Palm-Scanning Entry” to activate the palm-scanning entry function. When entering the station, passengers can use the palm-scanning gate with a ring logo, place their palm facing the recognition area inside the ring, and the gate will open automatically after the recognition is completed and the ring turns green. When exiting, they simply scan their palm again, and the travel fare will be automatically deducted from WeChat Pay. Passengers can enter and exit the station by simply stretching out their hand, even in special circumstances such as forgetting to bring a physical card or having a dead phone battery, they can still take the subway. Palm-scanning entry is a contactless gate-passing method, which is hygienic and safe.
